People at ORL

At ORL, members of staff can opt to wear Active Badges. These badges make information about our location known to our computer systems and also to users via applications. All equipment is also located using a smaller version of the badge. We can opt to make some of such "location information" available to the outside world via Internet information services such as finger and the World Wide Web. We consider that location information systems such as the Active Badge System should have a concept of reciprocity intrinsic at the lowest level. For example, individuals are notified whenever their location information is accessed via the Internet. They receive details of when and from where this information was retrieved.

Otherwise, click to access information on all members of staff. Within this page, clicking on a person's name gives more circumstance and communication information about that person; clicking on a location shows who is at that location.
